Local knowledge is everything.
New Recruits International was founded with a desire to do things differently. That’s because recruiting for the Caribbean construction and hospitality markets is different to anywhere else in the world.
In fact, the Caribbean market is so vibrant and dynamic it requires very specialist and localised knowledge to recruit successfully. That’s why our clients and candidates work with NRI, because we have the breadth of knowledge needed to help them find the perfect candidate or the perfect job.
Executive Sales & Business Development
I love travelling throughout the Caribbean meeting people and helping them recruit the best talent for their organisations’ strategic goals.
Sarah founded New Recruits International in 2020 after she was made redundant because of Covid-19. Having successfully created, grown and managed the Caribbean Construction and Hospitality desk at her former agency, demand from her loyal clients and candidates resulted in the rapid formation of New Recruits International.
By investing time meeting clients and candidates face-to-face and working from 13 strategic locations, Sarah was able to build a thriving Caribbean recruitment desk and established herself as one of the most experienced specialist recruitment consultants in the region. Her reputation is for selling the reality: which means that candidates get a true understanding of the role and work environment, and clients get the right people for the right jobs.
Sarah’s commitment and love for the Caribbean and its people was evidenced in 2017 when Hurricane Irma caused devastation across the islands. Sarah visited within a month to get recruitment plans in place to help the regeneration efforts. Although based in the UK, Sarah spends several months a year building her network in the Caribbean and NRI’s reputation for exemplary recruitment services.
Outside of work, and when not travelling, Sarah focusses on her other passion: horses. A former showjumper, she now competes in dressage competitions.
Nikisha Mc Burnett
New Recruits prides itself on its transparency which ensures candidates and clients know exactly what to expect from us and each other.
Based in St Vincent and the Grenadines, Nikisha joined New Recruits International in 2022 having previously worked in human resources in the Caribbean construction industry. She brings specialist experience and a fresh perspective to her role as Recruitment Consultant at NRI, and an in-depth understanding of our clients’ needs and recruitment challenges.
Nikisha has extensive local knowledge across the Caribbean, including Jamaica, within both remote resorts as well as more central locations. This experience is invaluable for identifying suitable candidates, ensuring that they are an excellent fit for both the role and the location.
Our candidates also benefit from Nikisha’s experience client-side as she knows first-hand what clients are looking for from the best candidates. Having lived on different Caribbean islands, including one of the remotest in the region, Nikisha is also able to share valuable advice and insights with our candidate base to help them find a role that matches their skills, attributes and aspirations.
Outside of work Nikisha is interested in personal development, both wellness and spirituality, as well as enjoying time with her family and friends.
We have an excellent team here at New Recruits, it’s the people that make the difference.
Dundee joined New Recruits International in 2022 as our accountant. Based in Trinidad, he’s had a varied career after starting his working life as an actuary.
As well as bringing his accountancy skills to NRI, Dundee has worked in education for almost 20 years lecturing part time in finance, accountancy and business for several international universities at degree and masters level. Working with students at the start of their careers gives him a useful insight into new talent coming onto the job market, which he shares with the NRI team.
Outside of work Dundee is a keen triathlete, a passion he shares with his three daughters, and has completed over five IRONMAN courses. When he’s not travelling the world competing in events, he loves to spend time in the great outdoors with his family.
