Purchasing Director ~ Caribbean

Minimum of 3 years of similar purchasing experience in role & 1 to 2 years’ experience working in a luxury resort.

Responsibilities

• The Purchasing Director will be responsible for forecasting levels of demand for services and products to meet the Caribbean Resort’s needs and keeping a constant check on stock levels.
• The Purchasing Director  will be responsible for establishing procedures in ordering, receiving, storing, distributing and payment of items, develop vendor list, purchase the best quality equipment, goods and services at competitive prices
• Conduct research to ascertain the best products and suppliers in terms of best value, delivery schedules and quality for the property located in the Caribbean.
• The Purchasing Director must have strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Caribbean experience is preferred with experience dealing with international vendors.
• The Purchasing Director must be good at negotiating, networking and dealing with numbers. 
• The Purchasing Director will be responsible for liaising between suppliers, manufacturers, relevant internal departments, and customers.
• Identify potential suppliers, visit existing suppliers, and building and maintaining good relationships with them to enhance guest satisfaction vacationing at the Caribbean Resort.
• Ensures accurate administration of all invoices, and adherence to proper bookkeeping procedures.
• The Purchasing Director will be responsible for clearing goods through customs barriers for importers and exporters on the Caribbean Island.
